Aiming to achieve professional development in the Arab world and communicate accurate health information to patients, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Arab Medical Union and NABED to provide professional and specialized training programs, educate patients about their conditions, and elevate engagement between doctors and patients.
A press conference was held at the Union’s headquarters in Dar Al-Hekma, Cairo, in the presence of WHO and General Authority for Healthcare representatives, as well as a number of diplomatic, media, and press people. The event was covered by local and satellite news channels. During the signing ceremony, the secretary general of the Arab Medical Union, Dr. Ossama Rasslan, announced that the agreement with NABED comes within the framework of raising patient awareness under doctors’ supervision and putting patients at the center of what we do.
Mr. Adnan Abu Sharar, NABED’s CEO, highlighted that being the first-of-its-kind platform, NABED offers the largest video library in the Arab world, covering the most common diseases and surgeries. According to Mr. Abu Sharar, NABED provides doctors the necessary tools to help patients be active in their own care by sending them personalized content that follows international guidelines.
As a result of the agreement, the NABED platform will be adopted to continuously educate doctors on medical updates according to the latest studies and scientific research from specialized international medical institutes—as well as to elevate engagement between doctors and patients in an innovative interactive way.
